“EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE IS REAL.”― PABLO PICASSO

Hi, I’m Ada, the designer and founder of the Hugahag, creating characteristic, alternative art and making the world just a bit more bizarre! I have always been a creator of different types of visual arts and have tried myself in many areas creatively over the years. Honestly, I’m an idea hamster, a little quirky, introverted with strong opinions, perfectionistic and eager to improve.
My greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

I never know what my creations will look like before I start, and this is exactly what brings me the excitement and curiosity I need to stay inspired. I always trust my intuition and let go of myself into a world where anything is possible. There are no mistakes, only new ideas – the perfect place to find inspiration.

The source of my creativity is fueled by many things like nature, travelling, cartoons and all things colourful, being witchy or watching videos of my favourite creators. Still, I found that my well of inspiration lies in creating something out of nothing.

Precious stones have been thought that can be an aid in healing, releasing stress and fear. Working with them is just as magical as their quality of being the only one of its kind.
I design with passion and am driven by knowledge to encourage you to take steps toward to a better future.

I started sculpting with air-dry clay in 2019 fulfilling one of my childhood dreams, and I fell in love with it. When I decided to create and sell talismans and small figurines, I switched to working with polymer clay due to its durability. All my creations are handmade works of art, they are individually sculpted, hand-painted and boosted with positive energies. My passion for myth and magic is present in my art through the carefully selected crystals. Gems have been honoured for their beauty and power for thousands of years around the Globe. Today’s witches are looking back to those ancient practices to be able to embrace some grounding energy and release stress and fear. Working with gems is just as magical as their quality of being the only one of their kind.

In 2020 besides learning polymer clay sculpting, I chose to work with a print-on-demand company to use their services to print my designs through them, so I was able to get my digital art printed on a variety of high-quality products that are unique and made only after you ordered. That means those who are buying my home accessories will get an extraordinary, quality item without supporting fast homeware. The products and fabrics come from ethical brands and suppliers that comply with labour, environmental, and safety standards. My goals are to support sustainability and quality of life by designing products that last. Read more about the steps I take to reduce my business impact on the environment so that you can support me without guilt.
I create exclusive content and share behind-the-scene moments on my Ko-Fi account, among many other great benefits. – What Ko-Fi is?
Ko-Fi is a crowdfunding platform, which is connecting artists with their fans. There are many options for you to choose from: you can follow me, and check the gallery of my creations. You can become a member of my Ko-Fi page to get many great benefits, or you can leave a one-time donation – buy me a coffee. Ko-Fi is a safe platform for us to fund our projects and grow as an artist. Letting you support your favourite creators for their work by contributing to their platform. Come and Witching around, follow me on my creative journey. Being my patron, you can collect cool stickers or mini prints quarterly for under a year – just to mention one great benefit.

Let’s build a supportive community together in an imaginative world of polymer clay, symbolism and magical gemstones. Thank you to be a part of it!

Working With Polymer Clay In A Sustainable Way

How Can I Be Green And A Polymer Clay Artist?

Earth is facing major conservation challenges and it needs our help more than ever. When we take small actions to tackle the climate crisis, they add up to make a big difference. I signed up to join The Fight Against Plastic Pollution campaign and I  have kept this promise since. I did cut down 90% of the amount of single-use plastic I used from bags, bottles and food packaging.

In 2020 after a long argument with myself, I decided to switch to polymer clay for my art projects due to its durability. Polymer clay is actually vinyl plastic, a synthetic type of modelling clay, with the base ingredient the PVC.
The polymers add flexibility to the clay, it is easier to mould with it and the clay can easily retain its shape, and texture also will keep its vibrant colours. But all of these great properties polymer clay gets a bad reputation on Earth day. The eco-friendly way is the process, that is how you work with your polymer clay, and there is a sustainable way to do it. Here is my list of what I found and follow to take the pledge to the planet because it is extremely important to me, to use this material responsibly:

  • Properly stored raw polymer clay will last for years and never dries out – less stuff to buy.
  • Artists always use up every little piece of clay – there is no waste.
  • All raw clay can be reused.
  • Unwanted colours can be used for base clay in the next project cover it with canes, new clay or paint over it.
  • Cure in larger batches at once rather than by piece to save on electricity.
  • Many polymer clay crafters have been repurposing household items by decorating them with polymer clay. Giving these items a new life – means less stuff in landfills.
  • If made and used correctly, the products should last for a really long time and are entirely safe from toxins.
  • Jewellery made of polymer clay is almost always made in small portions by small local businesses. That means when you are purchasing a polymer clay product, you will get a beautifully packed, long-lasting OOAK product, and your purchase will support an independent artist or a small business owner.
Sustainable Polymer Clay Hugahag

Plastic packaging is extremely wasteful and impacts the Earth’s ecosystems. I do my best to minimalise waste and also make sure that your order is beautifully and safely packed. I use acid-free tissue paper to protect the product inside rather than bubble wrap and it can be reused in many ways.
Crystal guides and Product guides are free pieces of artwork designed by myself, and printed at a local service, encouraging you to keep and display them instead of throwing them away. Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions as sustainability is always at the top of my mind and happy to discuss new ideas.
